Join us for Drawing Portraits, a fun and engaging art program designed just for kids ages 8-13 who are eager to explore advanced drawing techniques and create amazing, lifelike portraits!
Held in our bright and welcoming studio, this program is perfect for young artists who want to learn how to draw faces with incredible detail and depth. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to improve your skills, this class will guide you step-by-step through the process of creating realistic pencil portraits.
What to Expect:
Advanced Pencil Techniques: Learn how to use light, shadow, and shading to bring your portraits to life! Master techniques like blending, cross-hatching, and stippling to add texture and depth to your drawings.
Realistic Facial Features: Focus on drawing key elements of the face, from expressive eyes and noses to detailed lips and ears. Learn the importance of proportions and how to capture the unique features that make each face special.
Adding Emotion and Expression: Discover how to convey emotions through facial expressions. Learn how small changes in the eyes or mouth can change the whole mood of a portrait!
Full Portrait Creation: By the end of the program, you’ll have the skills to create a complete, realistic pencil portrait from start to finish.
Materials: All drawing supplies, including pencils, erasers, blending tools, and high-quality paper, will be provided. Just bring your creativity and excitement to learn!
What to Bring:
Dress for Mess! We’ll be working with pencils and other materials, so make sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.
Indoor Shoes: Please wear indoor shoes, socks, or slippers. Outdoor shoes and bare feet are not allowed for safety and cleanliness.
Water Bottles: Stay hydrated while you create!
