Start Here First! 

Welcome to the Dragonfly! There are a few things to note before you arrive:

  1. The studio is located in the Hanlon Plaza at 25-340 Woodlawn Rd. W. Guelph, ON. It is on the left side of the building past the Goodwill and right next door to The Grand Banquet Hall. 

  2. Parking is available to the left of the lot along the grass directly across from the studio. There is parking available for accessibility, however, the door to the studio is not automatic. If you require assistance entering the studio, please call 519-546-3559.

  3. Dragonfly is an indoor-shoe friendly environment.Outdoor boots/shoes are not permitted in the studio. **Due to hygiene, you cannot be barefoot

  4. There are coat hangers available at the entrance.

  5. Strollers must remain outside the studio, however if your infant is in a bucket seat, you are welcome to bring the seat in to studio.

  6. Open Studio is not a drop-off program. If you are registering your child for open studio they need a registered and participating adult to accompany them (any child under 16)

  7. There are designated drop-off programs available. Please refer to the calendar for details.

  8. There is a washroom on site with a baby-changing station.

  9. Bottled drinks are welcome in the studio for all events. However, food is not permitted during open studio time or during guest sessions. Birthdays and private events may provide food to the guests provided the food is consumed at tables without art supplies. Please ensure all food/beverage brought to the studio is NUT FREE. Dragonfly Art Studio cannot guarantee the entire studio is nut-free.

 

Dragonfly Art Studio is a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

  • Who can come to the Dragonfly classes?
    The good thing is that there is something for everyone at the Dragonfly Art Studio! We're open Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for Open Studio times. Events like painting parties, special guest classes, and birthday party availability is all listed in the calendar. Make sure you check the calendar before you come to visit. Dates and times are subject to change.
  • Is food permitted?
    Beverages with capped lids are welcome in the studio at all events. Food is welcome for private events as long as it is nut-free. However, due to the possibility of food debris in the supplies, all food must be consumed at tables not near the art supplies. No food is permitted during open studio.
  • Do you have a refund policy?
    For Open Studio and Public Painting pARTies, there is no refund on purchases. All registrations are final sale. For booked birthdays, private events, fundraisers, the deposit is non-refundable. Other events may have been turning away due to your booking. If you have paid in full and need to switch the date of your event, we can do so without penalty one time if we are at least 1 week out from your event. Canvases and items purchased from the shop/merch are non-refundable.
  • Is there a cost to come to the Studio?
    Classes & Open Studio do have costs to join. Sundays: $15+hst/person Monday/Friday: $12+hst/person Wednesday evenings: $15+hst/person Tickets are required for both children and adults. Siblings are $8/ea with the purchase of a full price child's ticket. Infants under 1 are free with a paying sibling. Canvases are available for an additional fee. All classes and special events have an associated cost. Please review the calendar for additional information.
  • What does the fee cover?
    The Open Studio Fee covers the cost of the supplies on the floor, cleaning the supplies (don't worry, I'll do that for you!), and use of the studio. The studio has a variety of supplies from paint, chalk, markers, and more readily available. There are also different types of paper including craft, printer paper, acrylic paper, etc. There is an additional cost for canvas if you prefer to work on them. Canvas are available directly from the studio.
  • Do you host birthday or private events?
    Yes! If you'd like to get colourful for a birthday party or private event, you are welcome to book in at the studio! Children birth + are welcome in the studio. Please note that adult supervision is required. There is a total 15 children permitted in the studio for birthday parties. 5 adults are also welcome for supervision purposes. The studio has a participant maximum of 20 people. Adult private events are welcome! These are great for get-togethers, birthday parties, team building and more!
  • What about corporate/fundraiser events?
    The Dragonfly can easily transform in to a professional paint setting for a more adult-friendly atmosphere. There are 150+ paintings to choose from for your event - or if you'd like to enjoy the open studio, you're welcome to do so!   • Can I host an event at my location?
    Not everyone wants to host their event in the studio, and that is okay! If time permits, I'd love to help you get creative at a location of your choosing. There is minimum 8 people required for an event on site. There is also an additional $75 artist fee (this covers insurance, travel, and studio closure). The artist fee is the deposit for your event.
  • Do you do school events?
    Yes, I do school events! Let's talk about the topics you want covered and which paintings or drawings would be best suited to your students needs! There is special pricing available for school events. Let's connect and discuss specifics: dragonflystudioguelph@gmail.com
