Advanced Pencil Portraits - Winter Term

Take your drawing skills to the next level with Advanced Pencil Portraits, an engaging class designed for kids ages 8 to 13 who are ready to deepen their understanding of portrait art and refine their technique!
 
In this inspiring program, young artists will build on their foundational skills as they explore advanced concepts in proportion, anatomy, and expression. They’ll learn how to capture personality, emotion, and realism using graphite, charcoal, and coloured pencils.
 
Held in our bright and supportive studio, Advanced Pencil Portraits focuses on strengthening observation and precision while encouraging creativity and individual style. Students will experiment with complex lighting, shading, and layering techniques to add depth and dimension to their drawings. Through step-by-step lessons and guided practice, they’ll discover how to bring their portraits to life with confidence and control.
 
Whether they’re illustrating a dramatic close-up or designing a character from imagination, each week offers a new opportunity to expand their artistic range and skill set.
 
With expert instruction, every student will develop a deeper understanding of portrait composition and discover their own artistic voice. By the end of the class, students will have a series of expressive, detailed portraits that showcase their growth and creativity.
 
Advanced Pencil Portraits is perfect for young artists who have taken Pencil Portraits or have prior drawing experience and want to challenge themselves with more detailed, realistic portrait work.
